Customers browsing the Smart Motors Toyota showroom are now entertained by the stunning sounds of a Pramberger Baby Grand Piano. This unique instrument features its own Cloud Digital Player, so the instrument makes beautiful music with or without a pianist.
But how did this amazing instrument take up residence in the middle of the Smart Motors Showroom? It all started at A Night in Casablanca – Journey Mental Health Center’s annual fundraiser held last April 21st. Each year, Journey takes its guests to a different time and place. This year’s event transported guests back to World War II era Casablanca. Studio 1 at Full Compass Systems was transformed into Rick’s Café Amercain. Guests enjoyed a gourmet Moroccan dinner, silent auction, belly dancing, and entertainment provided by the Dimensions in Sound big band.
The piano story comes from the live auction that concluded the event. Grant Billings, of Billings Piano Gallery, donated a one-year lease of their Pramberger Baby Grand for our live auction. Staff from Smart Motors, a long-time supporter of Journey Mental Health Center, attended the event. When they saw and heard the piano at the event, they knew they had to have it for their showroom.
Smart Motors prevailed in a spirited bidding war with the winning bid of $1,300. This is a win-win-win for all concerned. Smart Motors customers get to listen to beautiful music while shopping for their next Toyota. Billings Piano Gallery has one of its instruments on demonstration in a high traffic showroom. Journey Mental Health Center programs get the benefit of Smart Motors generous winning bid.
We at Journey Mental Health Center thank Smart Motors, Billings Piano Gallery, and the more than 100 business donors who helped make our silent auction a success.
