NAMI’s award is given to a certified peer specialist “who successfully models the concept of mental health recovery and helps others with mental illness start and move forward in their own recovery.” In his role at PROPs, Peter helps teenagers and young adults, ages 15-25, cope with their mental illness.

“Peter walks the walk of recovery – and PROPs consumers and staff alike can’t help feeling inspired when he talks recovery, connecting as a person, opening possibilities,” said Henning Von Bauer, PROPs Clinical Team Leader. “He challenges the team to put compassion into action, every day, in every situation.
