Description:
This training is intended to helpclinicians learn best practices in suicide risk assessment. This training willoffer 4.0 CE hours *NBCC/ACEP #6760, for eligible participants. Participantswill become familiar with national suicide data, and risk and protectivefactors for suicide. They will develop an understanding of the psychology ofsuicide, and learn strategies for interviewing patients, formulating risk, andresponding effectively. This training includes small group breakouts to applythe information by utilizing a case example for discussion.

At the end of this training,participants will be able to:
- Summarize the risk and protective factors for suicide
- Identify the four components of suicidality
- Employ techniques for eliciting risk
- Increase confidence in responding to suicide risk
- Thoroughly document risk assessments
