Legal Diversion Services-Alternative Sanctions/Diversion Courts

Providing screenings, assessments, referrals, and treatment for those in jail diversion programs.

 About Alternative Sanctions 

The Alternative Sanctions Program provides initial screening, assessment, and referrals to appropriate treatment for individuals in jail diversion programs of three Dane County Treatment Courts:

  • OWI Treatment Court for repeat intoxicated drivers.
  • Drug Treatment Court for high-risk individuals charged with a drug-driven felony offense.
  • Drug Diversion Court monitors medium-risk individuals charged with a drug-driven felony offense, driven by drugs. The felonies are non-violent and did not involve weapons.

  • Referral for substance use treatment
  • Ongoing case management and treatment monitoring

Initiating Services

  • All consumers in Alternative Sanctions are court-ordered and each Treatment Court has different expectations.
  • Your screening will be completed by a trained clinician.
